Now who doesn’t love trees?

These static natural wonders not only lay their roots deeply into the physical structure of our natural environment, but deeply into the cultural and intrinsic fabric of our lives. Trees have the ability to synthesise the oxygen we breath, purify the air and the ground, provide a canopy and habitat for animals, prevent flooding and soil erosion, and that’s only a few of their physical benefits. Trees can bring diverse communities together, help with the alleviation of stress and anxiety and provide a scenic backdrop to a holiday snap. Now I can’t think of any other organisms that provide us with such an array of advantages, can you?

As a Londoner, my day to day frequency of tree encounters is not as often as I would like, and although I may only stumble across a tree sporadically on my commute to work, I feel very fortunate to live and work in one of the greenest cities in the world.

According to the Global Green Economy Index 2016, an in-depth look at the greenest and most sustainable countries and cities in the world, London ranks 11th as a greenest major city. With over 8 million trees, 3,000 parks, 30,000 allotments, 3 million gardens and 2 nature reserves, it is clear that foggy old London town is actively working to leave its bleak, smoggy, industrial revolution image behind by adopting green initiatives and creating more green spaces.

As a company registered and based in London, a company that wants to safeguard the health of our environment and one that wants to lay as green a footprint as possible, we thought what better to way to do our bit than to plant some trees!!

We’ve partnered up with the online tree planting community Tree Nation, a platform where planters, companies, and individuals team-up to develop high quality reforestation projects in order to fight climate change, deforestation and help local economies. Currently, Tree-Nation work with 78 projects in different countries around the world such as Colombia, Kenya, Nicaragua, Costa Rica and Madagascar.

The Conservation Guide with the aid of tree nation and its tree planting community will help fund tree planting projects around the world. We will grow our own Conservation Guide forest, planting trees for every new organisation that joins our platform as well as every member who joins and leaves a review. Our forest and the other projects we help, will allow The Conservation Guide to offset our carbon footprint and provide vital revenue to important reforestation projects around the world.

How can you help?

If you have volunteered on one of the projects on our site please sign up to The Conservation Guide and leave your review. We will then email you an invitation to plant your very own tree. If you’re an organisation, please sign up and upload your projects to our platform and we will plant a tree for every project you add, it’s a simple as that.
